Science Practicals and Remote Teaching at CBSE Schools in Pune during the Pandemic
The Covid 19 brought an unfathomable and unimaginable situation for schools and other educational institutions worldwide. Remote teaching and working online proved to be very helpful to make learning easier, for children and students confided within the four walls of their rooms. A new challenge that cropped up was teaching laboratory practical due to social distancing. Simple experiments could be done at home, for instance the number of water droplets that could fit on a coin, but those involving titrations, measurement, etc taught in high school were more demanding. The solution was in virtual labs and simulations. Technology driven lessons and edged with the latest developments in online laboratory activities opened the windows to innumerable opportunities and this was easily adapted by schools worldwide. Virtual labs are simulated learning environments that allow students to complete laboratory experiments online and explore concepts and theories without stepping into a physical sc
